How to add a waitlist to your link in bio

Turn bio-link clicks into a waitlist. A simple guide to adding an email signup to your link in bio, writing it well, and using the list on launch day.

By Justin Sinon··2 min read

Every time someone taps the link in your bio, they're curious. Most of them leave and never come back. A waitlist on your link-in-bio page catches the ones who are interested but not ready yet, so you can reach them later on launch day.

Why put the waitlist on your bio page

  • It's where the traffic already is. People who tap your bio link are your warmest audience.
  • One less click. Sending people to a separate landing page loses some of them on the way.
  • It works before you have a product. You can start building a list the day you have an idea.

How to add one with Drawr

  1. Claim your name if you haven't.
  2. In the editor, open Add block → Email signup.
  3. Write a label like "Pixelpatch beta", a line about what they get, and the button text, like "Join waitlist".
  4. Put it near the top, ideally right after your product.

Visitors type their email and tap the button. They see a short thank-you, and nothing else gets in their way. You can see how many people joined in Stats and download everyone as a CSV.

Email signups are part of Drawr Pro, and Pro is free during the beta.

Write it so people actually join

The words matter more than the design. A few rules:

  • Say what they get, not what you want. "Get early access and 50% off" beats "Join my mailing list".
  • Be specific. "Team plans ship in January" is more convincing than "Coming soon".
  • Keep the button short and active. "Join waitlist", "Get early access" or "Notify me".
  • Make one promise about email. "One email when it launches. That's it." makes people relax.

Use the list well

  • Email them when you said you would. If you promised one launch email, send one.
  • Give them something first. Early access, a discount or a founder call makes the list feel worth joining.
  • Use launch day. Email the list the morning you launch, and set a launch card on your page to show only that day.
  • After launch, switch it to a newsletter. Change the label to "Get updates" and keep collecting.

A quick example

Pixelpatch beta. Team plans are almost here. Get in early, and the first 100 get 3 months free. [Join waitlist]

That's a label, a specific promise and a clear button. It's enough.
